We booked into The Marmara after travelling to Alanya and coming straight back the following day after witnessing a polluted touristy tacky city. The room was huge, but the decor was a bit weird, but we grew to like it. The buffet breakfasts were amazing. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the place was spotless. There is an excellent private area next to the sea with stunning views of the hills to the west that you access via a lift to your left in the garden. The only negative issue for us was the noise coming from a venue across the street that occasionally went on until 3am.
