So pulling up outside the hotel, the Bristol doesn't really stand out from its surroundings, but as soon as you walk in, you know you are in for a treat. Friendly staff rush to greet and help you, light and airy lobby, spotlessly clean and a really nice ambience all around. When we got there the hotel's systems were down, but it didn't stop them checking us in and showing us to our room in rapid time. The room again, was very big, with three different sections, the first bit was where the wardrobes, toilet and bathroom were, the second bit was the bedroom and the third bit was a sitting area which a small balcony. We were lucky enough to be right opposite the opera house and it was a very impressive view indeed. The hotel is ideally situated for all the sights. It is literally next door to the opera house, a few minutes walk from the main shopping area, and a short walk to a lot of the other sights that we wanted to see in the area. There is a really fantastic bar in the hotel, great drinks and nibbles. The only complaint I would have here, is that nearly everyone was smoking and as it was quite a cozy bar, the smoke did get overpowering so we left after just one drink, but we would have loved to have spent longer there. Hopefully when the smoking ban comes into place later on this year, that will improve. Breakfast is OK, the staff were really helpful as always. The hot counter make any type of eggs that you fancy, there is a good selection of breads and pastries, but the rest of the food was a little limited if I am honest. It was a good experience overall though. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and one we would wholeheartedly recommend.
