The Hotel is very nice, placed about 300 meters from the station. The owner is fabulous Mr Wolf and his family also. His dad is a wonderful person and helped us with the bags twice in his car. Rooms are great with a fabulous view of the Eiger. If I come to Grindelwald again I would like to stay at this hotel again. There is a little climb to the hotel which can be a huff and puff at the end of the day. It was worth the walk! The atmosphere is traditional Switzerland and the service was attentive. We ordered raclette and escalopes of pork in mushroom cream sauce. Our meals also included a lovely amuse buche. Finally, we enjoyed the best chestnut soup with thyme foam. Truly the best we had ever tasted! Leave the beaten path of main street and enjoy Restaurant Alpina!
